Thermal Abstract II
Thermophiles, or organisms that only thrive in the extreme environmental rigors of thermal pools and vents, can be seen congregating to create this partial “bed” of life, floating across the top of a thermal pool at West Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone boasts 1/3 of all the world’s natural thermal features contained within the 2 million acre boundary of the park.
